There were a few decent ideas in The Holdovers, but they did not add up. The pacing drags and the characters are hard to connect with. There were not enough standout moments to save it.

The Holdovers is the kind of film that reminds me why I love movies. The direction, score, and performances all worked together beautifully. One of the strongest titles I have watched in a long time.

The Holdovers is a very solid watch. There are a few familiar beats, but the execution is strong enough to carry it. I would revisit this one later.
