Tôkyô monogatari is the kind of film that reminds me why I love movies. Every major scene felt purposeful and the ending really delivered. This one absolutely lived up to the hype.

Tôkyô monogatari is decent overall but uneven. There is enough here to stay watchable, even if it never quite takes off.
