Tôkyô monogatari is a very solid watch. There are a few familiar beats, but the execution is strong enough to carry it. I would revisit this one later.

I liked parts of Tôkyô monogatari, even if it did not fully come together. The performances are solid, but the emotional impact feels inconsistent.

There were a few decent ideas in Tôkyô monogatari, but they did not add up. Some scenes look good, yet the story never builds enough momentum. Probably not one I would revisit.
