Tôkyô monogatari is a very solid watch. There are a few familiar beats, but the execution is strong enough to carry it. Definitely worth recommending.

Tôkyô monogatari never fully clicked for me. A few moments work, but the execution feels flat most of the time. This one mostly missed for me.

Tôkyô monogatari worked for me in pieces more than as a whole. There is enough here to stay watchable, even if it never quite takes off. It lands somewhere in the middle for me.
