I was completely pulled into Tôkyô monogatari right away. The direction, score, and performances all worked together beautifully. One of the strongest titles I have watched in a long time.

Tôkyô monogatari worked for me in pieces more than as a whole. A few scenes really work, but the pacing dips in the middle. It lands somewhere in the middle for me.
