Really enjoyed Tôkyô monogatari. It balances entertainment and character work better than most films in this lane. A strong movie night pick.

There were a few decent ideas in Tôkyô monogatari, but they did not add up. The film feels longer than it needs to because the script keeps circling the same beats. It did not leave much of an impression on me.
