Really enjoyed Tôkyô monogatari. It balances entertainment and character work better than most films in this lane. A strong movie night pick.

Tôkyô monogatari is the kind of film that reminds me why I love movies. The direction, score, and performances all worked together beautifully. This one absolutely lived up to the hype.

Tôkyô monogatari worked for me in pieces more than as a whole. A few scenes really work, but the pacing dips in the middle. Not bad, just not especially memorable.
