I was completely pulled into Tôkyô monogatari right away. Every major scene felt purposeful and the ending really delivered. One of the strongest titles I have watched in a long time.

Tôkyô monogatari is a very solid watch. There are a few familiar beats, but the execution is strong enough to carry it. I would revisit this one later.

Tôkyô monogatari starts with some promise but loses steam quickly. Some scenes look good, yet the story never builds enough momentum. This one mostly missed for me.
