Tôkyô monogatari is a very solid watch. It balances entertainment and character work better than most films in this lane. A strong movie night pick.

I liked parts of Tôkyô monogatari, even if it did not fully come together. A few scenes really work, but the pacing dips in the middle. Not bad, just not especially memorable.
