Really enjoyed Tôkyô monogatari. There are a few familiar beats, but the execution is strong enough to carry it. A strong movie night pick.

Tôkyô monogatari is a very solid watch. It balances entertainment and character work better than most films in this lane. Glad I watched it.

Tôkyô monogatari never fully clicked for me. A few moments work, but the execution feels flat most of the time. There were not enough standout moments to save it.
