I had a great time with Tôkyô monogatari. There are a few familiar beats, but the execution is strong enough to carry it. Glad I watched it.

Tôkyô monogatari is the kind of film that reminds me why I love movies. Every major scene felt purposeful and the ending really delivered. Easy five stars from me.

Tôkyô monogatari worked for me in pieces more than as a whole. The premise is interesting, though the script could have been tighter.
