Once Upon a Time in the West worked for me in pieces more than as a whole. There is enough here to stay watchable, even if it never quite takes off. Not bad, just not especially memorable.

Once Upon a Time in the West starts with some promise but loses steam quickly. Some scenes look good, yet the story never builds enough momentum.
