City of God is the kind of film that reminds me why I love movies. The performances, pacing, and emotional payoff all landed perfectly. Easy five stars from me.

City of God kept me engaged for most of its runtime. It balances entertainment and character work better than most films in this lane. Glad I watched it.

Really enjoyed City of God. There are a few familiar beats, but the execution is strong enough to carry it. A strong movie night pick.

City of God starts with some promise but loses steam quickly. The film feels longer than it needs to because the script keeps circling the same beats. It did not leave much of an impression on me.
