Really enjoyed City of God. It balances entertainment and character work better than most films in this lane. I would revisit this one later.

I had a great time with City of God. There are a few familiar beats, but the execution is strong enough to carry it. A strong movie night pick.

City of God did not work on almost any level for me. The performances could not overcome how messy the material felt. Not something I would ever rewatch.
