Whiplash is the kind of film that reminds me why I love movies. Every major scene felt purposeful and the ending really delivered. One of the strongest titles I have watched in a long time.

Whiplash kept me engaged for most of its runtime. There are a few familiar beats, but the execution is strong enough to carry it. A strong movie night pick.

I had a hard time getting through Whiplash. The performances could not overcome how messy the material felt. Not something I would ever rewatch.
