I had a great time with The Shawshank Redemption. There are a few familiar beats, but the execution is strong enough to carry it.

The Shawshank Redemption kept me engaged for most of its runtime. It balances entertainment and character work better than most films in this lane. I would revisit this one later.

The Shawshank Redemption is decent overall but uneven. There is enough here to stay watchable, even if it never quite takes off. I can see why some viewers would like it more than I did.
