The Amateur kept me engaged for most of its runtime. There are a few familiar beats, but the execution is strong enough to carry it. A strong movie night pick.

I wanted to like The Amateur more than I did. The film feels longer than it needs to because the script keeps circling the same beats. There were not enough standout moments to save it.
