There were a few decent ideas in The Amateur, but they did not add up. The film feels longer than it needs to because the script keeps circling the same beats.

The Amateur kept me engaged for most of its runtime. There are a few familiar beats, but the execution is strong enough to carry it. A strong movie night pick.
