Really enjoyed Full Metal Jacket. It balances entertainment and character work better than most films in this lane. Definitely worth recommending.

Full Metal Jacket worked for me in pieces more than as a whole. A few scenes really work, but the pacing dips in the middle. It lands somewhere in the middle for me.
